What is a real on Instagram?
Reals are one of Instagram’s newest features. They consist of short videos with a maximum length of 90 seconds. These videos allow everyone to give free rein to their creativity by adding visual or sound effects, such as music. The real ones offer many possibilities of expression and allow you to highlight your profile and your imagination.
Can we know who is watching your videos?
To date, it is not possible to know exactly who is viewing your reals. Several reasons explain this:
- First of all, if your account is public, your reals can be seen by thousands of people. It would therefore be technically difficult for Instagram to transmit the list of all viewers.
- Such a feature would also be impractical to use. Going through a list of thousands of names to find a specific person who viewed your real would be tedious.
- Finally, privacy plays an important role. You yourself may not want to tell someone that you have viewed one of their films. Protecting user identity is therefore an advantage rather than a disadvantage.
How many people have viewed and liked your reels on Instagram?
Despite the impossibility of knowing precisely the people who have viewed your reels, there are some tips to know how many people have watched and liked them:
- Open the Instagram app and go to the reals section.
- Select the real one for which you want to know the number of views.
- Tap the number below the heart icon.
You will then be able to see the number of views and “likes” that this real has generated. To find out who commented on the story, click on the number below the bubble icon.

The number of views and “likes” on your real is a good indicator of its success. However, a tip is to share your real in your Instagram story to get a more precise overview of the people who viewed it. Simply click “Add real to your story” once you’ve finished recording.
The statistics of your real Instagram
Instagram offers a feature called “Instagram Insights” which allows you to learn more about your real life. You can therefore know the trends of your reals, know what type of content your subscribers prefer and identify your most popular reals. These statistics help you adapt your Instagram strategy to attract more users.
